General Information

During peak periods (e.g. 7am - 9:30am and 5pm - 11pm on weekdays), rainy days or festive seasons, demand for taxis rises. Try booking a taxi by phone. Do note that a booking surcharge is applicable.

Fares

Taxi fares are charged by the taxi meter and based on a flag down rate and the distance travelled. The flag down rate ranges from S$2.80 - S$5.00 (depending on type of taxi). Peak Periods, Late Night/Midnight, Public Holiday, Central Business District (CBD) and other location surcharges may also apply and vary between taxi companies. Please check with the driver on the surcharges and ask for a receipt at the end of the trip.

Hailing a Taxi in the Central Business District (CBD)

Taxis are not allowed to pick up or alight passengers along roads in the CBD where buses ply between 7am to 10pm from Monday to Saturday, other than a public holiday. They are required to do so at taxi stands/stops and driveways of buildings.
